DPAS LIVE REVIEW

WHITESNAKE
Lycabettus Theatre, Athens
June 11th 2003

I've been following all current and past Purple members since I was 11, so I couldn't miss seeing Whitesnake for the first time in my life. As you can understand, my expectations were too high!

From the first notes of Bad Boys till the end (Judgement Day) they played very powerfully. Everybody in the audience had a great time, but it was all because of David! All of the band members are great musicians, but they just don't fit together. Marco made a great impression to all the Greek women in the arena, Doug, too!

The set list was the same as any European gig (with the addition of Judgement Day and and David's solo vocal spots)_ some technical problems appeared, too. Marco and David were too loud, and you couldn't hear Tommy, apart from his very impressive solo. Actually he reminded me of Rondinelli!

And, why do they only play the hits? Where are Come An' Get It, Ain't Gonna Cry... etc?? Was it because they wanted to promote both 'best ofs', that have many, many songs from '1987'? David surely knows. I don't have a lot of memories from the show, but I saw David Coverdale! He's a true legend, a true showman!
