Welcome
to our Looking Back section, where we are following the progress
of the Deep Purple reunion as it happened month by month twenty
years ago.
The
Deep Purple Appreciation Society was following events at the time,
and with the help of news cuttings, interviews and pictures, we
hope to stir some memories. If you have any recollections to add
for the next issue of Darker Than Blue, do
get in touch.
NOVEMBER
/ DECEMBER 1985: By
the end of 1985 the Deep Purple reunion came to a slow down. Plans
for the new album kept being thwarted and eventually the group
didn't begin recording until the middle of 1986, and didn't tour
at all during the year. For this reason we'll not continue the
looking back for each month of 1986 as it would be a bit pointless!
Instead we'll pick up the story a couple of time during the year
and then resume this story in 1987 when they got back to work.
